Disney+ finally launches in UK

Disney+ officially debuts in the UK with a launch lineup of more than 1,000 TV series and films.

Streaming service Disney+ has officially launched in the UK with an initial lineup of more than 1,000 TV series and films.

The new offering boasts the first 29 seasons of The Simpsons, the entire Marvel movie franchise and every film from the Star Wars universe.

Original Star Wars spinoff series The Mandalorian is also part of the lineup, with new episodes being released weekly from today.

A subscription to Disney+ costs £59.99 a year in the UK - or £5.99 a month - and the app is widely available across most devices, as well as via SkyQ.

On its initial launch in the US, Canada and the Netherlands last November, Disney+ gained 10 million subscribers on its first day alone.
