Hollywood legend Betty White is reportedly making plans to mark her 99th birthday in January with a "low-key" party.

The veteran actress - known for shows such as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Golden Girls and Hot In Cleveland - has been isolating at her home in California since the coronavirus pandemic took hold of the US earlier this year.

White's publicist has previously reassured fans that the 98-year-old is coping well in lockdown and she is said to be passing the time by enjoying vodka martinis.

According to OK!, White is remaining ultra-cautious over her safety but is putting together plans for a small gathering of friends and family when she turns 99 on January 17.

"Betty's done so much in her life, and all with a smile," a source told the magazine.

"She's an inspiration for everyone around her - she refuses to get down and keeps everyone on their toes. Her friends and loved ones are ready to raise their glasses to celebrate her great life."

Once the pandemic has passed, White already has her next acting job lined up, having agreed to star in a new TV movie due for release next Christmas.
