Tom Parker will miss gigs from The Wanted's comeback tour as he receives continuing treatment for a brain tumour.

Tom Parker has revealed that he will miss the first few gigs of The Wanted's reunion tour as he receives treatment for his brain tumour.

The 33-year-old was diagnosed with a stage four glioblastoma - a currently-incurable condition - 18 months ago and has recently been spending time at a private treatment facility in Spain.

The Wanted begin their comeback tour on Thursday night in Glasgow, but Parker has now said that he will not be able to make the first few shows.

"So, as most of you know, I've been out in Spain on a treatment programme for the past couple of weeks," he wrote on Instagram.

"It was only meant to last 20 days but due to a couple of logistical changes with tests and results it won't be complete until the end of the week now which has delayed our journey home.

"I'm obviously gutted that I'll be missing the first few shows but as I'm sure you will understand, I have to complete my treatment cycle.

"I've been zooming into rehearsals all week and I know that the show will be incredible and that my boys will hold the fort until I'm back.

"Can't wait to see you all very soon, hope you all enjoy the show. Much love. Tom x"

The Wanted's tour runs for 12 dates - including a show at The O2 - and will finish up in Liverpool on March 17.
