Dr Dre is allegedly in intensive care in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Dr Dre is reportedly in intensive care in a Los Angeles hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm.

The legendary rapper and producer is currently in the middle of bitter divorce proceedings with his wife of more than 24 years, Nicole, after announcing their separation last summer.

According to TMZ, the 55-year-old suffered the aneurysm on Monday and was taken to an ICU unit at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

The publication claims that while Dr Dre remains in intensive care, he is currently "stable and lucid, but doctors don't know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests".

The singer's good friend Ice Cube wrote on Twitter: "Send your love and prayers to the homie Dr. Dre."

Missy Elliott posted: "Prayers up for Dr. Dre and his family for healing & Strength over his mind & body."

Dre is one of the most influential artists of his generation and is also credited with discovering and nurturing talent such as Eminem and 50 Cent.
