Bridgerton hunk Jonathan Bailey will play Fiyero in the movie adaptations of the Wicked musical.

Bridgerton hunk Jonathan Bailey has joined the cast of the upcoming Wicked movies in the role of Fiyero.

The two-film series is an adaptation of the hugely successful musical of the same name, which is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz following Elphaba (the Wicked Witch) and Glinda (the Good Witch) in their college days.

Bailey will play Fiyero, a love interest of both women who proves pivotal in them going in opposite directions.

Ariana Grande is playing the part of Glinda, while musical theatre veteran Cynthia Erivo is on board as Elphaba.

Referencing one of the songs from the musical, director Jon Chu tweeted of Bailey's casting: "He's perfect, they're perfect. They'd be perfect together. Born to be forever..... I am too excited to pretend this hasn't been happening. We have a Fiyero!!!!"

The first film is due for release in December 2024, with the second following in 2025.
