Hayden Panettiere to return for Scream 6
Hayden Panettiere will reprise her role in Scream for the upcoming sixth film in the franchise.

Hayden Panettiere is returning to the Scream franchise for the upcoming sixth film, it has been announced.

The actress appeared in the fourth movie in 2011 playing Kirby Reed, a student at Woodsboro High who ultimately survived Ghostface's murder spree.

Also returning are four survivors from the most recent film, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding and Jenna Ortega, as their characters "leave Woodsboro behind and attempt to start a fresh chapter".

Franchise regulars Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox have yet to be confirmed for the cast, although both have been part of every movie to date, albeit with varying levels of involvement.

Filming on the new movie is due to take place this summer ahead of a planned release on March 31, 2023.
