Chris Pratt is confirmed for the cast of the new MCU movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

Chris Pratt is to return as Star-Lord for the next standalone Thor movie, Thor: Love and Thunder.

Earlier this year Guardians of the Galaxy's Vin Diesel (Groot) claimed that members of the Guardians would make an appearance in the next Thor film - currently due for release in February 2022 as part of the MCU's Phase Four - and now the news is official.

Towards the end of the epic Avengers: Endgame, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was seen joining the Guardians on their spaceship after appointing Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) as the new leader of Asgard.

Thompson is also returning for Love and Thunder, as is Natalie Portman as Jane Forster - soon to become the goddess of thunder, The Mighty Thor - while Christian Bale is to portray a mystery new villain.

Filming on the new movie is scheduled to start in Australia in January.
