Jamie Laing "taking a step back" from Made In Chelsea

Made In Chelsea veteran Jamie Laing reveals that he is "taking a step back" from the E4 reality series.

Made In Chelsea veteran Jamie Laing has admitted that he will be scaling back his role on the show in the future.

The 31-year-old has been a key part of the long-running E4 reality format since its second series in 2011 but is now planning to transition to making just occasional appearances, like other stalwarts Ollie Locke, Binky Felstead and Alex Mytton.

Laing has featured in the early episodes of the current series but will now see his screen time drastically reduced as he focuses his efforts on taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.

"I'm incredibly loyal towards [the production company] Monkey Kingdom and Channel 4," Laing told The Sunday Times.

"A lot of people talk badly about reality shows and say they were shown in a bad light. Well, I was shown in a bad light, I was shown in a good light, I went on the most amazing holidays, I got paid to hang out with my friends and I was on TV for ten years.

"I'd never say, 'Hey, that's me done,' but yes, I'm definitely taking a step back."

He added: "And I don't think I can be 40 years old and still doing a reality show with kids who are 20, do you know what I mean? It's a bit of a desperate look."

Made In Chelsea continues Monday nights at 9pm on E4.
