Marty McKenna's ex Kat Harrison is reportedly in contention to appear on the new series of Love Island.

Kat Harrison, an ex of Geordie Shore's Marty McKenna, is reportedly in contention for this year's Love Island.

The new series is now a matter of weeks away from beginning on ITV2, with work on the show's new villa in Mallorca almost complete.

According to The Sun, among those who could be entering the villa on day one is Northumbria University student Harrison.

"Kat is the mix for the next series of Love Island," a source told the newspaper. "She works as a model but is also a student at Northumbria uni.

"They think she has the full package, brains and beauty, and could bring a lot to the table.

"Kat really impressed and she should be a shoe-in for the show.

"She used to date Marty from Geordie Shore so is no stranger to a bit of the limelight.

"Getting onto Love Island will be a huge boost for her though and will show off her credentials in her own right."

Others linked with the show include Michael Owen's daughter Gemma Owen, Zara McDermott's brother Brad McDermott and basketballer Jordan Spencer.
