Line of Duty series two to be rerun on BBC One

The second series of popular spy drama Line of Duty, guest-starring Keeley Hawes - is to be rerun on BBC One starting this weekend.

The BBC has announced that the second series of Line of Duty will be rebroadcast on BBC One starting this weekend.

The Jed Mercurio spy drama aired on BBC Two for its first three series before switching to BBC One for its fourth and fifth, the latter of which averaged 10.7 million viewers to rank as the UK's most-watched drama of 2019.

Series two - first shown in 2014 - featured Keeley Hawes as DI Lindsay Denton and Mark Bonnar as DCC Mike Dryden in a series-long storyline that also featured the reveal of 'The Caddy'.

"I'm thrilled that Line Of Duty series two is heading to BBC One on Saturdays at 9pm," said Hawes. "It's so exciting to be introducing DI Denton to a new audience.

"Brace yourselves though - it's Jed Mercurio and we all know where that could lead..."

The rebroadcast of series two comes ahead of the new sixth series - expected to air later in the spring.
