I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! will be back in Australia rather than Wales this year, Ant and Dec confirm.

Ant and Dec have confirmed that I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! will take place in Australia this year for the first time since 2019.

Coronavirus travel restrictions meant that the 2020 and 2021 editions of the show have been held in Wales rather than New South Wales, with Gwrych Castle filling in for the Aussie jungle.

Most measures have now been removed, however, meaning that easy travel between the UK and Australia should be possible again come the autumn.

"The plan is, we're going back to Australia, we don't want to go elsewhere," Ant told Heart FM.

"It's got to go back to it. Back to its spiritual home, back to where it all started.

"Everyone wants to see a bit of sunshine at that time of year on the telly."

This year's edition is expected to begin at the end of October rather than mid-November in order to avoid any scheduling clashes with the World Cup.
