Piers Morgan discusses Good Morning Britain future

Piers Morgan suggests that he is open to staying with Good Morning Britain when his current contract expires at the end of 2021.

Piers Morgan has suggested that he is open to the idea of staying on Good Morning Britain into 2022.

The 55-year-old, who celebrates five years of hosting the show with Susanna Reid next month, recently signed a new deal keeping him in the hotseat until the end of 2021.

Previously Morgan has insisted that he will leave the breakfast show when that contract expires but now he has hinted that he may be persuaded to extend his deal when the time comes.

"I'm definitely there till the end of next year," he told Chris Evans's Virgin Radio show. "I've got a contract till the end of 2021 - but who the hell knows in this environment what's going to happen after that.

"I enjoy the morning show more than I ever enjoyed CNN or America's Got Talent."

Good Morning Britain continues weekday mornings from 6am on ITV.
