Patsy Palmer is confirmed to return to EastEnders as Bianca Jackson for a short stint tying in with Whitney's exit storyline.

Patsy Palmer is to return to EastEnders as Bianca Jackson for the first time in more than four years, it has been announced.

The iconic character - last seen in December 2019 - will be back for a short stint that ties in with the exit storyline of her adoptive daughter Whitney (Shona McGarty).

In the plot, pregnant Whitney and her boyfriend Zack (James Farrar) visit Bianca in Milton Keynes following her off-screen break-up with Terry, but it's not too long before "chaos ensues".

"I'm so excited to be reprising the role of Bianca," said Palmer, who originally joined the soap in 1993. "EastEnders holds such a special place in my heart so it's always a pleasure to be back."

Exec producer Chris Clenshaw added: "I'm thrilled to welcome the fabulous Patsy back to the iconic role of Bianca Jackson. Although the character was last seen on screen in 2019, Bianca still remains a fan favourite.

"We know our audiences will be thrilled at her return as she is thrust into the heart of the drama alongside step-daughter Whitney."

Palmer has already started filming and will be seen on screen later this Spring.
