Kellie Bright gives her thoughts on her on-screen husband Danny Dyer's exit from EastEnders.

Kellie Bright has spoken of her pride at being part of the Christmas Day episode of EastEnders.

The Carter family took centre stage over the festive period as Vic landlord Mick (Danny Dyer) finally saw the duplicitous nature of new wife Janine (Charlie Brooks) and kicked her out.

In madcap scenes, Janine then drove herself and Bright's character Linda over a cliff - and although Mick managed to rescue them from the icy cold water, he appeared unable to save himself and is presumed drowned.

"There was such a lot of real raw emotion tied up in the filming of the last episode," said Bright. "I'm very proud to be part of it. I love EastEnders at Christmas, I love filming it, I love being part of it.

"It always feels special and it does feel very much like it's gone full circle because that was when we came into the show."

Discussing what's next for Linda without Mick in Walford, she continued: "Linda is a tough cookie. You know, I've always said she's Barbie with a core of iron. She'll definitely find her way through this.

"And also she's mother to Ollie and Annie, and I think that will drive her forward."

EastEnders continues Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One.
