Joe Swash is to host a one-off show called EastEnders: The Six - Revealed which will see him interview the women at the centre of the Christmas Day plot.

Former EastEnders star Joe Swash has returned to Walford for a one-off special that will see him interview the matriarchs known as "The Six".

Earlier this year the soap aired a flashforward scene which revealed that a mystery male character will be killed off on Christmas Day in The Vic, with six of the Square's females gathered around the body. The identities of the man and the killer - or killers - have been teased all year long.

In EastEnders: The Six - Revealed, Swash - who played Mickey Miller between 2003 and 2011 - will interview The Six, aka Sharon (Letitia Dean), Denise (Diane Parish), Suki (Balvinder Sopal), Stacey (Lacey Turner), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) and Linda (Kellie Bright).

"I absolutely loved being back in my old stomping ground, Albert Square," said Swash. "EastEnders holds such great memories for me, and it felt so great to be back.

"I loved reconnecting with Tish, Lacey and Di who I love dearly and worked with on my last stint in the show, and it was great to meet Kellie, Gillian and Bal as we looked back at some of their amazing storylines from the year."

Exec producer Chris Clenshaw added: "Since we announced our Christmas storyline back in February, there has been an overwhelming amount of speculation around the body in question and which one of our six Walford matriarchs might be responsible; with much of that speculation coming from the cast.

"This show not only gives the audience the chance to hear from the actresses involved as they discuss their own theories but also gives some exclusive news about what's to come this Christmas."

EastEnders: The Six - Revealed airs Monday, December 11 at 8pm on BBC Three.
