Sonny Jay and his pro partner Angela Egan are named champions of Dancing On Ice 2021.

Sonny Jay and his pro partner Angela Egan have been named winners of this year's Dancing On Ice.

The radio DJ beat series-long favourite Faye Brookes in a close-run final that also saw Colin Jackson finish in third place.

Having been crowned champion, a tearful Jay said: "That is mental, thank you so much.

"I wanted to come out of this competition being able to skate with a beer in my hand –- now I can do that and I've won the whole thing! I feel like I've completed life."

Tonight's episode brings to an end a series blighted by numerous setbacks, including five celebrity dropouts through injury and coronavirus, as well as two professional dropouts.

The final was due to air next week but ITV brought it forward by a week - in addition to skipping an episode earlier in the series - as a result of the production problems.
