FOX News parts ways with long-time anchor Tucker Carlson after 14 years.

FOX News abruptly parted ways with long-time anchor Tucker Carlson on Monday morning, days after the network reached a settlement in a high-profile lawsuit.

The news broadcaster paid $787.5m (£630.8m) in damages to Dominion Voting Systems for accusing the company of being involved in supposed "fraud" in the 2020 Presidential election, parroting a narrative from losing candidate Donald Trump.

Carlson, who was among the anchors named in the lawsuit for peddling false information, had been with FOX since 2009 and had been hosting Tucker Carlson Tonight in the key 8pm hour for the last six-and-a-half years.

In a statement, the network said: "Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor."

Carlson's slot will be filled by various anchors on a temporary basis until a permanent replacement is announced.
