Sky is reportedly planning to expand Soccer Saturday next season despite the broadcaster's ongoing cutbacks.

Sky Sports is reportedly planning to expand Soccer Saturday next season despite the overall cuts at the broadcaster.

Earlier this month it emerged that Sky intends to drop Soccer AM after 28 years at the end of this season, while other reports have suggested that the on-screen reporting team is to be trimmed.

According to the Daily Mail, the flagship Soccer Saturday show will be immune from the cuts - and will even get a budget boost in 2023-24.

The newspaper says that the programme will relocate to a larger studio next season, while the in-studio panel will be expanded from four members to five.

Jeff Stelling, who has fronted the show since 1994, has already signed up to carry on as host next year.
