Emma Willis: 'Big Brother needed a rest'

Two years on from the show's axe, Emma Willis says that Big Brother "needs a rest".

Big Brother host Emma Willis has said that the time was right for the show to take a break from British screens.

After 18 years on the air, the seminal reality show ended in 2018 when Channel 5 opted against ordering a new series.

Rumours have persisted in the two years since that it could return via another broadcaster - possibly E4 - but that has yet to materialise.

Speaking about Big Brother on Sunday Brunch, Willis said: "We had it for a long time, didn't we?

"It has been on for a long time and there are always lots of rumours, but I think it needs a rest."

Willis is now host of Channel 4's similar reality show, The Circle, which returns for a new series next year.
