Spain's Miguel Alvarino Garcia wins archery gold

Spanish archer Miguel Alvarino Garcia wins the men's individual final 7-1 to claim a gold medal at the European Games in Baku.

Spain's Miguel Alvarino Garcia has won the gold medal in the men's individual archery event at the European Games with an emphatic win over the Netherlands' Sjef van den Berg in the final.

The two finallists shared the opening set, but the Spaniard won the next three in a row to clinch a 7-1 victory, not scoring less than nine with any of his 12 arrows.

Van den Berg made few errors, but eights with his final two shots in the second and third sets left his opponent well ahead going into the fourth.

Anton Prilepov of Belarus will join them on the podium, having beaten Slawomir Naploszek of Poland in the bronze medal match.
