Manchester United reportedly make progress in their bid to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.

Manchester United have reportedly progressed 'reasonably far down the line' with negotiations for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a number of central midfielders this summer, including Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez and Rennes' Eduardo Camavinga.

However, according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, United are likely to prioritise the transfer of Neves over the coming weeks.

Speaking to the Football Terrace podcast, Jones said: "I just haven't heard a lot about Saul Niguez personally.

"So it's hard for me to assess that one. So I'd say because of the information I've had, and it all depends on your sources, I know for a fact that they do like Neves, that they've been working on it in the background and it's reasonably far down the line."

Wolves are allegedly prepared to consider offers in the region of £35m for Neves, who has returned to pre-season training after representing Portugal at Euro 2020.

Despite the 24-year-old being tied to Molineux until 2024, the West Midlands outfit will have to sell one of their most prized assets to significantly strengthen their squad this summer.
