Manchester United may allegedly consider allowing goalkeeper David de Gea to go out on loan for the 2021-22 campaign.

Manchester United may reportedly allow goalkeeper David de Gea to go out on loan during the summer transfer window.

Despite his long-term association with the North-West giants, the 30-year-old has recently lost his number-one spot to Dean Henderson.

While De Gea would realistically be provided with game time in the cup competitions, the arrival of Tom Heaton has left United with more options between the sticks.

According to the Manchester Evening News, club officials and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could give consideration to a season-long loan exit for the Spain international.

De Gea currently has two years remaining on his contract, leaving United under no immediate pressure to cash in on the stopper over the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, with De Gea now only acting as deputy for both club and country, a temporary move away from Old Trafford is a realistic possibility.
