Bayern Munich chief executive Oliver Kahn has ruled out a move for Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bayern Munich have rejected the possibility that they could sign Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 37-year-old has been the centre of transfer speculation after asking United to leave this summer if a suitable offer is received.

Chelsea have been credited with showing an interest in the striker, while Bayern have also been linked with a potential move.

However, Bayern chief executive Oliver Kahn has ruled out the possibility of the Bavarians signing Ronaldo.

Kahn told Kicker: "As much as I appreciate Cristiano Ronaldo as one of the greatest, a transfer would not fit into our philosophy."

According to The Mirror, Bayern's reservations stem from the player's age and the fear that he could disrupt the team structure.

The Portugal international, who has one-year remaining on his contract, scored 24 goals in 38 appearances for Man United last season.
