Emre Can: "Nobody is scared of Cristiano Ronaldo"

Germany midfielder Emre Can is ready to face off against Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo should the two nations reach the Confederations Cup final in Russia.

Emre Can has insisted that he is not afraid of the prospect of coming up against Cristiano Ronaldo in the Confederations Cup should his Germany side meet Portugal in the final.

The Liverpool midfielder is expected to be involved in Thursday evening's semi-final clash with Mexico after shaking off a minor training-ground injury.

Germany are on course to meet European champions Portugal, spearheaded by Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo, who has two goals to his name in his three tournament outings thus far.

Potentially facing off against the four-time Ballon d'Or winner is not something Can fears, however, telling reporters: "Nobody is scared of Ronaldo. Obviously he is a world-class player, but nobody is afraid of him."

Can has been used in all three of Germany's group games, playing the full 90 minutes against Chile and Cameroon after coming on as a sub in the opener against Australia.
