Liverpool are reportedly prepared to join some of their Premier League rivals in the race to sign Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.

Liverpool are reportedly contemplating whether to move for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville during the summer transfer window.

Although the Merseyside giants are attempting to win a treble this campaign, they are in a state of upheaval off the pitch.

Michael Edwards is back at the club as Fenway Sports Groups CEO of Football and Richard Hughes has been appointed as sporting director at a time when Liverpool require a replacement for the outgoing Jurgen Klopp.

If reports are to be believed, Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is being targeted as his successor with talks seemingly at an advanced stage.

Nevertheless, with the Portuguese focused on life with his current club until at least the end of May, there is currently no prospect of him being involved in any transfer matters at Liverpool.

Liverpool considering Summerville move

Summerville has been no stranger to interest in his signature for the best part of 18 months having developed into arguably Leeds' most valuable player.

Coincidentally, it was at Anfield where he made his first notable impact with the Yorkshire giants, scoring the late winner in a 2-1 victory in October 2022.

Leeds were later relegated to the Championship, but the 22-year-old has since proven his worth with 17 goals and eight assists from 38 appearances in the second tier.

While Leeds would preferably like to retain the services of the Dutchman in the long term, his contract at Elland Road is due to expire at the end of 2025-26.

According to FootballTransfers, Liverpool are still monitoring the progress of Summerville ahead of attempting to add him to their attacking options.

The report adds that any move by Liverpool may be dependent on whether Luis Diaz or Mohamed Salah depart the club in the summer.

Liverpool would seemingly face competition for Summerville, with Arsenal and Chelsea having already been linked with the playmaker on several occasions.

Meanwhile, this report suggests that Newcastle United and AC Milan are both keen on the former Feyenoord prospect, who may cost in the region of £45m.

Newcastle would need to sell before they can afford to commit to such a deal, particularly when they need to spend money in other areas of the pitch.

From Milan's perspective, though, they are allegedly considering their options in the event that they generate a big-money fee for Rafael Leao, who may be targeted by Premier League clubs or Paris Saint-Germain when the French club look for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
