Gemma Collins describes appearing on reality TV shows as akin to doing a "deal with the devil".

Serial reality TV star Gemma Collins has admitted that taking part in the genre is akin to doing "a deal with the devil".

The 40-year-old first found fame on The Only Way Is Essex in 2011 - a show she appeared on for eight years - and she has since taken part in multiple reality shows, including I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Celebrity Big Brother, Dancing On Ice and Celebrity MasterChef, as well as her own docuseries Diva Forever.

Speaking to em>The Times, Collins revealed that she once approached a producer on TOWIE to ask why she had been picked to appear on the show.

"One of the producers, once ... I said, 'Why did you all pick us?' And he said, 'Because you're all flawed in some way or another,'" she recalled.

"It's a deal with the devil, million per cent. But the devil ain't gonna beat me, honey."

Collins next plans to tour the UK with a new one-woman show, Gemma Collins: The GC's Big Night Out, in April next year.
