French journalist Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff, 32, killed in Ukraine
French journalist Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff dies at the age of just 32 while covering the war in Ukraine.

French journalist Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff has been killed while covering the war in Ukraine, according to president Emmanuel Macron.

The 32-year-old, who works for TV news channel BFMTV, was reporting on the humanitarian evacuation in Luhansk when the vehicle he was travelling in was struck by Russian shelling.

Leclerc-Imhoff is reported to have been fatally hit by shrapnel in his neck in the incident, while a colleague suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Macron wrote on social media: "Journalist Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff was in Ukraine to show the reality of the war. On board a humanitarian bus, alongside civilians forced to flee to escape the Russian bombs, he was fatally shot.

"I share the grief of the family, friends and colleagues of Frederic Leclerc-Imhoff, to whom I send my condolences.

"To those who carry out the difficult mission of providing information in theaters of operation, I want to reiterate France's unconditional support."

At least 14 journalists and media workers have now been killed in the line of duty during the Russian invasion.
