RuPaul's Drag Race UK series two "being regrouped"

The second series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK is expected to resume filming in the near future, it is revealed.

Filming on the second series of RuPaul's Drag Race UK may be completed by the end of the year, BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell has revealed.

The first series of the show, which features RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr as judges, was a runaway success for BBC Three when it aired at the end of last year and was also broadcast in the US.

The new run had already begun filming when the coronavirus pandemic brought production to a halt in March and has yet to restart, although speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival today, Campbell said that the show is in the process of getting going again.

"Midway through filming it was interrupted," she said. "It's currently being regrouped. I think the best thing I can say is hopefully if we all stay well in the UK like we are now, we'll get it done by the end of the year.

"But it's regrouping as we speak."

The series had been due to air later this year but the rearranged filming means that it is now more likely to premiere in early 2021.
