Charlie Brooker to record lockdown episode of Wipe

Charlie Brooker will resurrect his Wipe series for a one-off coronavirus lockdown special.

Charlie Brooker has resurrected his popular Wipe series for a one-off coronavirus lockdown special.

Charlie Brooker's Antiviral Wipe will follow the familiar format, with the comedian commenting on coverage of the crisis as well as things the public are doing to keep themselves entertained.

The half-hour episode will also feature in-depth reporting from Philomena Cunk and commentary from Barry Shitpeas.

In a statement, Brooker said: "The BBC asked me to supply a quote for the press release, which is what you're reading now."

Wipe has been off the air since 2016 due to Brooker's commitments working on Black Mirror for Netflix.
