Tom Wilkinson, known for roles in films such as The Full Monty and Batman Begins, has died at the age of 75.
A statement from the actor's family said that he died suddenly on Saturday while at home, with loved ones around him.
In a career spanning five decades, Wilkinson managed numerous accolades - including a BAFTA for his role in The Full Monty, two Oscar nominations, an Emmy award and a Golden Globe.
His other roles included Shakespeare In Love, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Patriot, as well as the acclaimed TV miniseries John Adams and The Kennedys.
Full Monty co-star Robert Carlyle wrote on X: "So sad to hear of the passing of Tom. A wonderful man, he will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of working with him.
"A brilliant actor, truly one of the greats of not only his but of any generation.. RIP Tom Wilkinson."
Wilkinson is survived by wife Diana Hardcastle and their two daughters.
