I'm A Celebrity... South Africa makes a decent start for ITV with 4.3 million viewers.

I'm A Celebrity... South Africa launched on ITV1 with a solid 4.32m (31.6%) last night, according to overnight ratings figures.

The show - pre-recorded last year - features some of the most memorable I'm A Celebrity contestants from the last 20 years competing to be crowned the ultimate campmate.

The audience was around half that typically brought in by the main show in November but was comfortably the most-watched programme of the day on any channel and was significantly up on the slot's average.

Also at 9pm, BBC Two's University Challenge - delayed from its usual slot by the snooker - brought in 1.72m (11.8%), while BBC One drama Blue Lightsmanaged just 1.45m (10.2%).

Channel 5 had 752k (5.3%) for Motorway Cops: Catching Britain's Speeders and on Channel 4, 999: What's Your Emergency? was seen by 599k (4.2%).
