Shaun Malone explains Gogglebox absence

Gogglebox star Shaun Malone explains why he disappeared halfway through the latest series of the show.

Shaun Malone has explained why he was absent from the most recent series of Gogglebox.

The 24-year-old is a regular fixture on the Channel 4 show alongside his dad Tom Sr, mum Julie and brother Tom Jr but disappeared partway through the most recent series, which concluded in May.

Talking to the Coaching From The Sofa podcast, Shaun, who works as a football coach, revealed that he moved in with his pregnant girlfriend when coronavirus lockdown began in March.

"I have been missing because my missus is pregnant so I moved in with her while this was going on," he said.

"And you can't go between households so I haven't been able to go into my mum and dad's house to do it."

Popular couple Mary and Marina were also forced to leave the show due to coronavirus fears over their age.
