Nick Miles: 'Returning to Emmerdale feels like Christmas'

Emmerdale star Nick Miles says that it feels like "the day before Christmas" as he gears up to return to filming.

Emmerdale star Nick Miles has admitted that he has Christmas vibes as he gears up to return to filming on the ITV soap.

Production on the show shut down in March as the coronavirus lockdown began but filming picked up again last week after an easing of the government guidelines.

The initial block of filming is for six standalone episodes, each of which features just two or three different characters, with Miles appearing in one alongside his on-screen wife Nicola Wheeler.

Talking to co-star Mark Charnock on Twitter, Miles wrote: "I feel like a kid who believes in Santa the day before Christmas.

"Getting back to #Emmerdale to shoot one of the lockdown specials is a great privilege."

Earlier today it was confirmed that the soap will manage to avoid going off air thanks to the speedy return to filming new episodes.
