Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford is announced as the fifth celebrity for next year's Dancing On Ice.

Olympic gold medallist Greg Rutherford has been revealed as the fifth celebrity taking part in next year's Dancing On Ice.

The 36-year-old - champion in the long jump at London 2012 - previously competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, finishing in seventh place.

Rutherford joins a confirmed lineup for DOI which also includes former boxer Ricky Hatton, S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, West End performer Amber Davies and actress Claire Sweeney.

"My kids love dancing around so hopefully they are going to enjoy watching me dance with blades on my feet!" Rutherford told Good Morning Britain.

"I think this is going to be a really different experience but one that will be quite exciting. I like a challenge and I needed a reason to go out and do stuff again and here we are.

"I want to perform something that's never been done before, that's my aim. I'll go 100,000% on this.

"I'll try hard, I'm in no way expecting to be good but I will work as hard as I can."

The new series is due to begin on ITV in January.
